Rumors suggest that Puma could become Egypt's new kit supplier from this year.
The 2019 Africa Cup of Nations tournament will be staged in Egypt between June and July, as confirmed by Caf in early 2019.
Puma had been making Egypt's kits in the late 1990s and 2000s. Egypt's contract with Puma come to an abrupt end following the Port Said Stadium disaster in 2012 that left dozens killed. Adidas became Egypt's kit maker in 2013 after the disaster.
Puma to Become Egypt Kit Maker
According to the report of Egypt newspaper El Fagr, a Puma delegation is due to arrive in Cairo at the end of this month to hold a meeting with the officials of the football federation and to terminate the agreement on all details and advertising during a press conference including the council and the company officials. Puma and Egypt would sign a four-year kit deal.
Puma was known for their great Egypt kits featuring bespoke designs. Adidas and the EFA (Egypt Football Association) were heavily criticized for Egypt’s generic 2018 FIFA World Cup kits.
