No More Calcio Catania - All-New Football Club Catania 1946

Some weeks ago, the historic Italian club Calcio Catania declared bankruptcy. Now the identity of the successor of the team has been revealed.

Calcio Catania, commonly referred to as Catania, is (soon was) an Italian football club founded in 1929 and based in Catania, Sicily. On 24 September 1946, they changed their name to the Club Calcio Catania.

The new football team from Catania is called "Football Club Catania 1946".

The logo of Football Club Catania 1946 has less in common with the classic old crest at first glance - instead, it is very modern. The classic elephant from the old club has been transformed to a modernized version of it.

In terms of colors, the new FC Catania 1946 logo is royal blue, light blue and red.
