On Sunday, Uruguayan club Nacional wore special shirt numbers to allow fans to be united with the team in times of the COVID-19 crisis. However, while the idea was pretty great, the execution was not optimal for spectators.
CD Nacional Debuts Shirt Numbers With Names Of Members
CD Nacional's kit numbers in the match against Club Atlético Peñarol featured the names of club members and heroes of the COVID-19 crisis. The club wanted that the "members and the nationals will be with the players", with no spectators allowed to reduce the risk of infection with COVID-19.
Nacional also shared a document of the special numbers that allows fans to see which number features their name.
However, the red names creating the typeface made it really hard to see the numbers already from a bit far distance.
CD Nacional could have fixed the numbers quite easily if they would have added a blue border to them.
