Without much fanfare, Nike has launched the iD versions of the recently introduced generations of the Mercurial Vapor and Superfly football boots. Thanks to @batissemendes for the heads-up.
It's perhaps coming as a bit of a disappointment for fans of the silo to see that currently it's not possible to change the base color of the boots, which are always black.
Instead, only three actual parts of the cleats can be modified in terms of colors, first the 'M' branding on the heel and the Swooshes, second the Swoosh border and the 'Mercurial' writing on the inside of the M and finally the split traction plate. Besides that, short and long signatures can be added to the tongue area and on the outside rear of the shoes. FG, AG-Pro and SG-Pro Anti-Clog are the available traction types. Available right now on Nike.com in Europe (we'll keep you updated if / when they become available in other parts of the world), the Nike Mercurial Vapor and Superfly 360 iD football boots retail at GBP 230 (EUR 290) and GBP 245 (EUR 260), respectively.
