Sports Direct Fails to Win Injunction Against Newcastle United

Newcastle United has an exclusive agreement with JD Sports to sell the kits. Sports Direct had argued that this agreement was an abuse of the club's dominant position.

The court rejected Sports Direct's application for an injunction. However, the judge stated that the refusal to grant the injunction made a speedy procedure more urgent, not less so. So there might be a later decision favoring Sports Direct. The court now expects the parties to make proposals quickly or to submit their own proposals shortly.

Newcastle United switches to Adidas for the 2024-2025 season. The club's agreement with Adidas and JD Sports means that the Adidas Newcastle United 24-25 kits will be only available via the club stores, JD Sports, and Adidas.
