Black Mexico Kit Design Competition

Update: Leyalmighty's Mexico concept has emerged as the winner of the unofficial Kit Creator Mexico kit design competition. The striking kit features traditional Mexican-inspired patterns with vibrant green and red accents flanking a predominantly black base. Its bold execution of cultural elements, elegant gold numbering, and striking incorporation of the Mexican colors earned it top honors.

Coming in second place is munchinator4000's design, which takes a more subtle approach with floral patterns embedded within the fabric and red and green side panels. The shared third place goes to Astar™ and Marciozhugo. Astar™'s concept incorporates traditional symbolism with modern styling, while Marciozhugo opted for a more dramatic approach featuring a prominent eagle motif with gold accents.

Vote Now: Mexico National Team Black Kit Competition

This month, the Mexican national team will release a special black and gold football kit, dedicated to this year's Gold Cup. Kit Creator has started a competition to design an alternative black Mexico kit to the official one.

Mexico Black Kit Design Competition

The black kit has become something of a tradition for Mexico despite not being one of the three main colors of its national flag. As our competition description notes: "For the team nicknamed after the three main colors of their national flag, they sure love dressing up in a color that isn't one of them. But can anyone blame them? They pull off the black kit quite well."

Designers are asked to create a primarily black outfield kit for the Mexican National Team while adhering to specific guidelines regarding branding and design elements. With just a bit more than two days remaining in the Mexico National Team Black Kit design competition, we're showcasing some of the most impressive submissions that have captured the essence of El Tri's iconic black alternative color scheme for the upcoming 2025 Gold Cup.

Competition Heats Up With 500+ Entries

The design challenge, which closes on March 9, 2025, has already garnered over 500 entries.

What makes this competition particularly interesting is how fan designs compare to the official 2025 Gold Cup black kit from Adidas. The official design features a subtle sunburst pattern embossed into the fabric with gold accents, the iconic eagle crest, and "MÉXICO DE ORO" text at the neckline. Fan submissions have taken varying creative approaches while working within the competition's strict guidelines:

Among the most impressive entries:

Many designers have incorporated the red, white, and green of the Mexican flag as accent colors, while others have embraced the elegance of a more minimalist black and gold approach.

The competition closes on March 9, 2025, at 16:00, with just over two days remaining for final submissions. Voting will then start on the Kit Creator platform.
