Last night, Liverpool youngster Ben Woodburn became his club's youngest-ever goalscorer at just 17 years and 45 days, 100 days younger than Michael Owen was when he scored his first.
In case a brand has had hopes to snap him up before he blows up completely, it has to be observed that Woodburn was already signed by Nike at least a year ago. This once again proves how close the big players in the boot market are watching players in the academies of the top leagues - after all, it's indefinitely cheaper to snap up talent as early as possible.
Primarily a winger, Woodburn made his goalscoring debut wearing Nike Mercurial Vapor XI boots, after the started his Nike career with the Superfly IV.
This should be a name we'll get to hear a few more times down the line, don't you think? Comment below.
