The new Brazil 2016 kit introduces and understated and modern design, made by long-term Brazil jersey producer Nike. Officially unveiled on March 17, 2016, the new Brazil shirt will be debuted in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers against Uruguay and Paraguay. Nike and the Brazilian federation also unveiled a new Brazil away kit.
Brazil had been wearing the 2014 World Cup Brazil jerseys up until now, although new Brazil home and away uniforms were supposed to be launched in early 2015. Disappointing 2014 Brazil shirt sales led Nike and the Brazilian federation to cancel those Brazil kit launches, both of which ended up being worn by the women's national team at their World Cup, anyway.
Brazil 2016 Copa America Kit
This is the new Brazil home kit for Copa America Centenario.
In line with tradition, the new Brazil 2016 shirt is predominantly yellow (Varsity Maize) with accents in green (Pine Green). The new Nike Brazil 2016 jersey also returns to including the Brasil tag below the crest, after the 2014 Brazil jerseys dropped the traditional style.
Based on Nike's all-new Vapor kit template, the Brazil Copa America Centenario jersey sees a green line run down on both sides of the shirt. Green trim is also present in the form of piping along the back of the modern v-collar of the new Brazil kit.
On another interesting note, the Brazil 2016 Copa America kit features yellow shorts, at least as first alternative to the traditional blue ones. Instead of switching to white shorts in case of a color clash, Brazil will go yellow-yellow-white, in line with other upcoming Nike kits including the 2016 France Euro 2016 home kit and the 16-17 Barcelona away kit.
